I like string, otherwise called thread. I like to make it (on a handspindle,) weave it, sew with it, play with it (with cats...) I was a weaver for years, but do not currently have my old floor loom. I do have the use of a borrowed table loom, and need to become accustomed to it, and use it. Lately I've been concentrating more on spinning, which is my newest skill.

I became involved in the SCA a few years ago, finding this a place I can meet others who share my interests. I am therefore now concentrating on Late Medieval spinning and weaving - the time period in which I am interested. My latest fixation is learning to spin wool from a distaff.
